I appreciate this so much. I, too am exhausted. This morning I found copies of ‘Where Goodness Still Grows’ that I bought during COVID Christmas intending to give to loved ones I was separated from due to different political views and pandemic responses. Maybe it’s time to actually give them out. Or maybe it’s just time for a reread.
Thanks for recommending my essay on mending in community! So glad to hear about your new church group. While I'm not sure if it's more political or more effective than the calls, I do feel strongly they're both important
That's how it starts, Amy. First, you're micro-dosing arugula. Then you're thoughtfully making full-blown salads and eating them at a quiet window where you've determined to give yourself a deep breath. A very dangerous post, as usual. Keep at it, dear friend.

All of this. Also very excited for new music from Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus.

Thank you for this giggle.
The NEEDLERS, Amy. How wonderful.
I have a bin of clothes too holey to mend or donate that I've been planning to turn into braided rugs ... someday. Thank you for the reminder.
We practice the virtues in the daily. Thank you for the reminder.
